Electrical Balance of Plant

Visual inspection of gauges, leaks, interior control devices and diesel generators followed by functionality tests on electrical and pressure switches.

Lubrication of mechanicals and cleaning of exterior equipment is performed, leak current and check alarm levels are measured, and oil samples are drawn for analysis and evaluation. These tests are done on a weekly to an annual basis.

Electrical and TRR testing is conducted on voltage transformers. Vacuum breakers are also inspected, cleaned, and lubricated. Insulation and contact resistance tests at SANS-approved levels are done from phase to ground with the breaker open and closed. PF tests are also conducted on all blushing lighting arrestors, if applicable.

Ratio tests are done through primary injection and confirmation of secondary loop connections and devices. Insulation, dissipation, and bridge capacitor tests are done at CCVT only.

After consultation, we provide a scheduled outage maintenance plan to accommodate both parties regarding major maintenance outages forecasted to occur within the year.

Battery testing is done annually, quarterly, and semi-annually to perform load bank testing that measures individual cell voltage and inter-cell resistance accordingly to ensure relevant parameters are set to optimise battery bank and charger performance.

The switching of operations shall be conducted according to your communication protocols. With your consent, Anairsun will gather relevant party details and coordinate the switching of operations with Eskom. A representative will physically be on-site during the outage operations- disconnections and connections of the plant.

We provide daily to monthly reports of preventative or corrective maintenance activities. Reports detail consumed spare parts, inventory loss and estimated costs for purchasing the necessary spare parts. We also include health, safety and environmental reports on incidents that may have occurred during operations.
